About Optimedia

Optimedia is one of the most relevant Romanian manufacturers of PVC, aluminum, and laminated wood joinery, with a presence across several European markets. They sell through a network of dealers/distributors who, in turn, configure the windows for end clients (individuals and companies).

The Challenge

The quoting process was the major bottleneck for Optimedia's growth:
  • Dealers used a window manufacturing software - a powerful but hard-to-use software - to configure the windows
  • After configuring, they sent the file to Optimedia by email for a quote
  • Optimedia would come back by email with prices, the dealer would recalculate, then go back to the client
  • The result: a single quote could take up to 2 weeks
  • During this time, the end client often left for a competitor that responded faster
  • Scaling was impossible - adding dealers meant multiplying communication complexity

The Mobiversal Approach

The diagnosis showed that the real problem was not the window manufacturing software (which is technically competent), but the lack of an easy-to-use layer between the dealer and the system. The solution: a custom web application that replaces the clunky interface of the window manufacturing software with a much simpler one, communicating with it through an API for correct price calculation.

Because the scope exceeded the needs of the standard packages, the project was delivered under the Custom Plan - a custom subscription for the specific requirements of the joinery industry.
